The Rainbow Foundation is an award winning charity which has been effectively promoting good mental health and wellbeing whilst reducing loneliness and isolation since 1994.
The Rainbow Foundation is an Ageing Well Centre of Excellence for Wales. Our holistic model includes comprehensive support under one roof at our Rainbow hubs in Penley and Marchwiel, and a range of outreach programmes and services embedded in the wider community.

Providing rehabilitation, therapy, care and support, information. advice and activities to empower independence, enhance wellbeing and enrich lives.
Our vision is for an age friendly community in which people lead healthy fulfilling lives as engaged citizens.
We aim to provide opportunities that empower people of all ages to retain as much independence as possible with an emphasis on rights, value and contribution.
2023 GSK IMPACT Awards
Following a rigorous selection and assessment process, The Rainbow Foundation was chosen from more than 400 charities across the UK as the overall winner of the 2023 GSK IMPACT Awards which are delivered in partnership with leading health and care charity The King’s Fund.
Now in their 26th year, the awards are a mark of excellence in the charity sector, designed to recognise the outstanding work of small and medium sized charities working to improve people’s health and wellbeing in the UK.
